Featuring: Architect and interior designer Monica Melhem designed this unique ocean front house where she spends her summers. She returned to her hometown Buenos Aires from New York after a five-year stint running the SoHo design emporium M at Mercer, and recently opened an interior shop in Manantiales nearby José Ignasio. The home: Seaside house in the small fishing village Faro de José Ignasio, Uruguay. The style: When Monica designed her home she wanted a place that melded with nature, was neutral, without color- an achromatic box where light and shadows played the most important role. The house is decorated with a handpicked collection of design, mostly Italian. But Monica’s favorite designers also include Danish Hay and Made a Mano.
