Featuring: Off the Swedish east coast, you’ll find the popular island Gotland. This stately house, built in the 19th century, is a newbie on the farm – which has actually been a farm in the family since the 16th century. Farmer Hans-Evert (57) was the 16th generation to inherit the farm when he was in his early 20’s, he now lives there together with his wife Susanne (52).The home: Three floors high, the farmhouse gives a grand impression. Susanne and Hans-Evert have restored and renovated the bottom floor, so it works for a modern lifestyle without loosing the old-fashioned charm. The style: That tired, worn charm… a lot of furniture and pieces in the house have a grand past – and now… well, some of the things really have surpassed their glory days – but Susanne somehow makes just that fading charm part of the beauty. It’s a warm, forgiving and very welcoming home – full of evidence and traces from past generations.
