Featuring: Sainte-Marie de la Tourette is a Dominican convent that today serves as a cultural centre. “Cultural Centre of la Tourette” is a partnership with the mission to bring contemporary heritage to life through art by artist residencies, exhibitions, contemporary music festivals and choreographies. We explore: The convent was designed in collaboration between composer and architect Iannis Xenakis and architect Le Corbusier. It contains a hundred bedrooms for teachers and students, but doesn't function as a place of study anymore. Located near Lyon, France.Despite the buildings concrete structures, there is not a moment of the day that the architecture is not changed by the movements of the sun. Light and shade play their part in this magnificent building complex and create graphic patterns in the sparsely furnished space.
