Featuring: Sala Lodges is a luxury retreat in Siem Reap in Cambodia that has taken conscious tourism seriously. The hotel consist of old authentic Khmer houses that has been collected from country side in Cambodia and transported to a huge garden in the middle of the city Siem Reap. The entrance of the hotel opens up to a foyer and restaurant like an arch leading into the property. Guests rent one of the Khmer houses with private porches. The garden is embraced by greenery that creates a secluded and isolated atmosphere in the middle of an otherwise quite buzzling and hectic city. Small paths made of stone bricks crisscross the greenery of bamboo straws and palm trees leading from house to house. A swimming pool looks like a floating mirror in one end of the garden.We explore: Sala Lodges offer a unique atmosphere and the chances to lean how you as a tourist can do good by spending money on a hotel that support local ecological farming and production, and who also support initiatives that help Cambodian to get education and good jobs. All the staff gets education and good wages. The ingredients, from the eggs used in the kitchen to the soap in the bathroom, are handpicked from local ecological framers and producers. The Khmer houses have their authentic wooden walls with a faded retro touch.
