Featuring: One of two cottages for rental in Finnskogen in Norway, on the border to Värmland in Sweden. Designed by Norwegian architect Espen Surnevik. Owned by a Norwegian couple, Kristian Rostad og Christine Mowinckel, who also owns this part of the forest and runs Østby farm. The home: Cottage of 40 square meters, balancing 8 meters above ground on pillars. Accommodate up to six people. Equipped with electricity and water, with kitchen and bathroom. The style: The architect Espen Surnevik was inspired by the Moomin Universe, when creating these little nests up in the air. A small spiral staircase leads up to a tiny bridge leading to the main door. The interior is made out of light wood giving a warm feeling. Huge window at each side opens up the nature as two gigantic live panorama pictures. The feeling of sleeping up in the air like this is absolutely unique, and expands your thoughts about the relationship between man and nature, like in the Moomin Universe.
