Featuring: When the couple took over this unique house, Káradóttir and Arnason realized that they had to plan the interior of Barn House as a combined resort and rental property. The Icelandic interior designer, Rut Káradóttir, has had a studio in Reykjavik since 1997, where she lives and works with her husband Kristinn ArnasonWe explore: The Barn House is located in Stokkseyri, a small town situated along the beautiful coastal strip south of Iceland, where the sandy beaches stretch for miles. The Barn House’s distinctly modern wood structure differs considerably from the surrounding houses, which are mainly built in corrugated iron or brick. As the name reveals, the Barn House resembles a barn. The construction is simple, with exterior walls stretching over to a spacious roof canopy, without external moldings. The interior is minimalistic and modern in calm and cool colors.
