Featuring: Mette Fredskild and Masahiro Katsume, both architectsThe Home: Newly built cottage as holiday home and weekend house at Isefjord; Denmark with 110 m² including annex and shed. The Style: The house combines two cultures thanks to new and innovative interior design and architecture solutions. It’s a unique harmonious house designed with great respect for the surrounding with lots of small intimate outdoor spaces and opportunity to follow the sun direction. The façade is made of burnt wood, known by Vikings and Japanese tradition. Burnt wood is an impregnation method, which is at the same time a modern response to today's demands for sustainable construction. The inside is kept in dark earthy colours too in a calm minimalist interior with rough natural materials in the style of Wabi Sabi, Japandi and Industrial.
