Featuring: City dweller Marta, feels as though her refuge in the Italian Alps found her.The House: Located in Val Sermenza, close to the more famous Valsesia in the Italian Alps lies Marta's holiday home that she calls Mon Refuge. Located on a beautiful slope, the cottage dates back to the end of the 1800s. The structure was made from local stones. Marta revived the original wood and stone floors to restore as much of the original cottage as possible.The Style: The natural rustic appearance of the home is kept as a way of preserving the warm atmosphere. The furniture and objects within the cottage convey Marta’s fascination and respect for the ancient Walser families and their traditions. It’s calm and quiet nature is found throughout the cottage.
