Featuring: Architects Amelia Russo and Sergio AucielloThe Home: The two architects have created an idyllic summer escape in the countryside of Ostuni in the Valle D’Istria, Puglia. They purchased a group of 100-year-old abandoned traditional round dry-stone huts, known as Trulli. The focus was to create a contrast between tradition and modernity, between the simplicity of the construction and the materials. Natural sunlight plays on walls creating shadow and light. Rooms are glimpsed through curved arched doorways and halls twist and turn in a maze-like manner. The Style: The house feels at once welcoming and mysterious. The old historic stone fades within the new white walls creating a space where antiquity and modernity coexist.
