Featuring: Architect Aud Randi Astad from Astad Arkitektur explains his ideas and thoughts behind the project. The anonymous owners are a couple with a love for cross country skiing. The Home: The cottage is carefully placed to face Langedalen and Hardangervidda eastwards and Folgefonna in the north 684 above sea level. The footprint of the cottage is only 60 square meters with 10 square meters of storage room as a separate unit. A mezzanine was added as a guest bedroom. The design is a modern interpretation of a classic farmhouse with many architectural details. The main house stretches 12 meters facing the view. The cottage has a facade of Ore Pine, which has little to no maintenance. The living room zone is sunken down two steps. Custom made sofa fits into the sunken niche. Each bedroom has custom made furniture in bedrooms. Lots of internal windows letting the light flow from one room to another. The Style: Clean modern Scandinavian interior, with a storyline that follows its exterior. It is like a seamless transition from the outside to the interior.
