Featuring: Marjolein, interior designer and stylist (41), and Marco (51), Brigadier of the police. They live with their two children in a new built family house, near the countryside from Uitgeest, The Netherlands. From their house they have a beautiful view over the meadows.The home: Where there used to be a milk factory, a farm shaped ‘kapberg’ house has now been built. With wooden front and stone back it has a striking appearance from the outside. Marjolein makes use of black painted window frames, concrete floors and steel doors inside. All together it gives a tough counterpart next to many pastel shades in the home.The style: Marjolein uses a lot of customization tricks to make good use of the space. It’s practical and gives a luxurious modern look. Marjolein is a real collector. She has a lot of special accessories, from ceramics to pillows. She brings back many accessories from her travels abroad. The items inspire her both in her work and her private life. By having everything around her, it makes her feel at well at home.
