Featuring: Bodil and Egon Bjørnshave’s brick longhouse on FanøThe Home: When they built their new house, they chose to follow the local, historicalbuilding traditions of the island. The home is a modern interpretation of the island's traditional longhouses. They chose materials that are aesthetic on their own without a need for additional layers of plaster and paint.The style: The exterior of the house looks sober and simple, almost as though it is a sketch of a house without fine details. However innovative solutions were used to protect this house from the elements and make it energy efficient. The interior is honest and pleasantly calm.
