Featuring: The thoughtfully renovated 1970s home of Charis, Justin, and their three children in Kootwijkerbroek, the Netherlands. The Home: Searching for a place with more character, Charis and Justin left their new-build house for a semi-detached home from 1979. Though outdated and dark, the house had potential—so they wasted no time transforming it. A load-bearing wall came down, creating an open-plan kitchen that quickly became the heart of their home. Within seven weeks, their vision of a modern yet warm family space became reality. The Style: A calming blend of minimalism and modern farmhouse charm defines the interiors. White walls and a grey poured floor set a sleek foundation, while warm wood tones and subtle rustic details—like wainscoting and paneled kitchen fronts—bring character. Practicality meets style in smart storage solutions, from a tall kitchen cabinet to a cleverly designed workspace. Outside, a once-concrete garden is now a lush oasis, complete with a pergola and inviting seating areas.
