Featuring: Ane and Joachim's nature-integrated family home on the remote island of Godøy, just outside Ålesund on Norway’s dramatic west coast.The Home: Built on a rare plot in the rugged beauty of Alnes, this newly constructed house is designed with deep respect for the wild landscape around it. With a silhouette reminiscent of a traditional boathouse, the home was created in close collaboration with local builders from Eir, who understood the area’s fierce weather and natural rhythms. The result is a low-maintenance, energy-efficient home in solid wood, cleverly divided into two volumes – one for social living, and one for rest and retreat.The Style: Rooted in Scandinavian simplicity, the interiors combine natural materials like oak, bamboo and massive timber in warm sand and earth tones. The design is both robust and refined, with furniture and fittings selected for their longevity, sustainability, and timeless appeal.
