Featuring: Portuguese architect Joana Sa Lima (35). Work brought her to Norway – and then love followed. She got a container shipped from Portugal when she decided to stay in Oslo. Memories and furniture from her homeland and family are dear to her. The home: The apartment is approximately 80m2, located in the neighbourhood Bislett in Oslo, Norway. Her home is centred around her friends: She couldn’t have a home without space for dinners with her extended family. So she made the dining room the heart of the apartment. The style: Joana uses contrasts and black & white, with a few sparks of colour. Her style might seem strict, but is equally playful. The dining room is painted all black, but because of all the light from the large windows, it doesn´t feel dark – just warm, enclosed and safe. A huge advantage when you use black as a base, she says, is that all colours match and fit in. My apartment is quite colorful, it just doesn’t look that way.
