Featuring: Birthe and Kåre share this villa in Fana, Norway, with their two kids and two chihuahuas. The Home: What is now a modern villa was once a simple house from the 1950s. Birthe bought the house spontaneously on a trip to Bergen, with the plan that the family would live here while a bigger house was built elsewhere. Instead, Birthe and Kåre decided to invest their money in transforming the house they had. Architect Philip Kvalbein was commissioned to redesign the house, with a particular focus on bringing together the new and old parts. The Style: The sleek exterior is matched by a modern interior in luxurious grey and brown tones. The open-plan layout with few rooms and doors gives the house a fantastic flow, and the large windows allow light into every room.
